Digital Media and Marketing Intern for Spring Semester, 2022:
Memria.Org is a growing social enterprise dedicated to helping organizations and businesses share personal stories and helping people listen to each other to deepen community engagement and provide better feedback. We work especially with community-based organizations like libraries, local museums, and historical societies, as well as with larger non-profit organizations in advocacy, justice, and human rights fields. We provide software and services to our clients, and, in 2022, we will be developing our business model as a SaaS (Software as a Service) company. For examples of current clients using our products, see: https://www.igiugigstorybridge.org/, https://www.idefendrights.org/, and (website in Spanish) www.VivaVoz.org.
Memria.org seeks an intern for the Spring Semester, starting in February, 2022. The intern will work directly with the CEO and other team members to design and execute a digital media and marketing strategy, with an emphasis on writing, editing, producing, and publishing communications and marketing collateral, including blog posts, landing pages, white papers, newsletters, and other materials (such as podcasts), depending on the intern’s experience, interest, and talents. Additionally, the intern will
- Become deeply familiar with Memria’s brand and market position, ideal customer profiles, and the needs and pain points of existing and potential customers;
- Help design a content marketing strategy based on an understanding of customer needs
- Propose and begin to implement strategies to amplify Memria’s brand and help position Memria as a thought leader in this space
- Identify partners and platforms (e.g. social channels) to disseminate the material
- Map out and implement ways to reach numerous communities, including those whose voices have been marginalized and whose stories should be heard
- Manage qualitative and quantitative metrics to monitor, evaluate, and evolve the strategy.
Because the intern will be a co-creator and the central coordinator and implementer of this work, under the supervision of the CEO, they will need to be highly-motivated, able to work independently, flexible, and self-confident about writing, editing, publishing, and coordinating.
Learning Goals
At the end of the semester, the intern will have deepened their understanding of content marketing strategy, especially in terms of nonprofit and community organizations. They will also improve their skills in writing, editing, and producing content.
